Malcolm in the Middle is a comedy sitcom which was aired on the Fox Network from 2000-2006. The show was created by Linwood Boomer and ran for seven seasons. The style of the show varied from other comedy sitcoms with its use of a single camera and lack of a laugh track. The main character, Malcolm (Frankie Muniz), would also frequently talk to the viewer directly, with the other characters remaining oblivious.
The show mainly focuses around the day to day life of Malcolm and how he copes with his dysfunctional family, whilst being an intellectual genius.
In the duration of its screening, Malcolm in the Middle was nominated for seven Golden Globes and won seven Emmy Awards, alongside a Grammy.
